We stock a variety of different Composts for different purposes. Our peat based composts are made using peat extracted from the Gretna peat moss, an area which is not an SSSI or site of special scientific interest. The Gretna peat moss works alongside environment agencies to ensure minimum harm to the surrounding wildlife. |

Multipurpose Compost use for anything from seedlings to established plants as long as they are NON ERICACEOUS OR LIME TOLERANT

Ericaceous Compost. Use solely for any LIME HATING plants.

Plain Peat. Use as a mulch or for planting, along with the use of a fertiliser i.e. Fish, blood & bone.

Tub Basket compost Ideal compost for hanging baskets, tubs and window boxes. The compost contains water retention ingredients and the essential nutrients for summer flowers.

Growbags These are for growing a wide variety of crops including tomatoes, lettuce ect. Or grow bag compost can be used as normal for flowers or for planting trees shrubs.

John Innes Composts. Come in 3 different strengths of fertiliser.
No 1 being for seeds or pricking out.
No 2 for rooted cuttings or weaned plants, for well established plants or tubs
and containers, or for planting trees and shrubs.
John Innes Large 25 litre £2.85 per bag. 15p per scoop
A good tip for spring and summer tubs and containers is to mix the contents of 1 growbag to 1 bag John Innes No 2 this will stop the compost drying out so quickly in hot weather and stop it getting too wet in rainy weather.
Coconut Fibre Compost. This is made from the hairy bits of coconuts and comes all the way from Sri lanka which is ceylon way away. It is Multipurpose and can be used for any stage in a plants life from seed to final potting
